Snapshots from the Fall

Hi friends!  I am back to post some more catch up photos.  Not a lot of words with this one, but I still wanted to document these moments.

"No!"  Mason is really good at getting onto the dogs when they are doing something wrong. Or not doing anything wrong.

When driving his truck, you can find any assortment of goods in the trunk as well as the cab.  I think he decided that he no longer wanted Bunny as a passenger.

He and "Nunny" have been B.F.F. for a while now.  We have 4 bunnies but one is missing.  I guess that means we just have 3 bunnies.  We got smart and ordered back up bunnies when Bunny #1 got "lost" in the play kitchen refrigerator at the church nursery.

He likes to sit in his chair and read books.  I think it is so funny that he does this on his own.  The Big Truck Book is a favorite.

This "Moo" book has pretty much been completely destroyed from all the "love." We still have it but it is in a couple of pieces.  He also has the dog book and animal book from the same author and loves them both as well!

Mason's friend, Hadley, invited him to come to her grandpa's land and ride the cotton picker!  Somehow she knew that Mason was a big fan of machines.

Of course, he was beside himself! He sat quietly in my lap for the whole ride, mesmerized.

We got some quality time with Isabelle and Lillian who share Mason's love for Elmo.

Here, Mason had just dumped water all over himself from the water table and then played in dirt. I had to strip him down. A.K.A. the usual.

Bunny goes for a ride in the John Deere.  Bunny is really very adventurous. Conveniently, he is always sleepy at nap times and bedtime.

One of my favorite pictures of all time.  That is Bunny on his shoulder.

Baby Feet.

A fun evening outside (I sure am missing that weather!).

Baby Flowers... Ben sent me these the day after we found out about Baby #2! They were so pretty!

"Moon."

The lighting this evening was so beautiful and Mason was having a ball digging with his tractors.  He kept saying "I dig. I dig"

Here he is showing us all how he can clap.  He likes singing "If You're Happy and You Know it"

I am looking a bit rough here, but had to post the family picture!  Clearly we were all taking it easy that day.

An Attempt to Catch Up

Hello!  Happy Fall! Happy Halloween! Happy Thanksgiving! Merry Christmas! And, Happy New Year!!!   Am I behind? Maybe a just a bit.

Hi. My name is Katie Lassiter and I am a digital image hoarder.

My laptop memory is full.  My iphone memory is full.  My 8 gig (YES! 8 GIG!) memory card in my Canon is full.

Thus, for the last several months I have been paralyzed, unable to function due to fear of losing and forgetting the images I have done nothing with and being too overwhelmed by the volume to know how to move forward.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I doubt it.

So... moving forward.  Remember those pictures from the beach I was going to post back in October? Alas, here they are. From our trip in September.  Most of these are strait out of the camera. I feel that editing is no longer in my future if I want to make any progress here....

Allow me to fill everyone in on what has been going on lately and I will then try to do some catch up posts with pictures.  Fingers crossed.

As for the biggest news in our lives, we are expecting baby number 2 in June!! We are very excited and the sex will be determined on January 30th!  I think it is another boy, but you never know! Everyone else is saying girl. We will see.

My parents have made the much anticipated move to Montgomery as my mom started her new job with the state department of education on January second.  We are thrilled they are here!

But no worries Florence people.  They are keeping their house in Muscle Shoals and will be living some in both places.  Florence will always be home, you know?  Or Muscle Shoals... North Alabama. Tri Cities... whatever.

I turn 30 on Monday.  That's right, thirty!  I am not sad about it or anything.. I am actually excited.  I think most people look at their thirties with great fondness and I expect this decade of life to be wonderful!  However, between getting old and being pregnant, I need to blog all these memories down before my memory leaves me completely.

I have been doing some thinking about my twenties and what all happened in my life over this past decade.  It was a lot.  A lot of stuff happened.... A lot of big stuff. Major life changes.  I am thinking the thirties may find me a little more settled.  I am tired, after all.  Then again, maybe that's just from being pregnant.  It all runs together.

Little Punkin has been keeping me busy!  I have so much fun with him and just love watching him.

Here I will interject to talk about the beach pictures you are seeing.  Yes, the picture above is Charles pooping in the ocean.  He couldn't be stopped.  We tried.  Right there in the surf.  Perfect. Not at all embarrassing.

Here is Pete trying to rescue Matt from the ocean.

The last evening that we were in Fort Morgan, Ben, Mason, and I all stayed out on the beach for a while.

Mason found this giant pile of sand and thought it was his job to throw it all in the not-so-nearby puddle.

So, handful by handful, he moved the sand.

Throwing it all into this large "puddle."

I bet the child made 50 trips before I finally convinced him that he had done enough.

Then he relaxed.

He is a hard worker like his Daddy.

So, in conclusion.  I have finally posted the beach pictures. Yay!  I will try to come back.  We will see how that goes.  Happy Valentine's Day in advance!
