Independence Day

Wasn't July 4th a great day?!  Having a day off in the middle of the week made me (and apparently everyone else) think it was Saturday all day long.  We had a nice lazy morning and cooked a big breakfast with peach pancakes, bacon, and "farm fresh" eggs.  Mason loved the pancakes!

For lunch we went to Ben's Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate with the family.  We enjoyed good food and good company.  Pictured above is Mason with his great grandma! What a blessing for Mason to get to know his great grandparents.

In the afternoon we headed up to the lake to spend some time celebrating with friends where Mason feasted on grilled corn.  (More on the corn obsession coming up.)

Isabelle was there!

And so was Lillian!

And Mason found a balloon that provided lots of entertainment!

We spent most of the afternoon playing on the big shady porch until the sun went down.

And I had fun taking pictures.

Then it was a party in the pool until dinner time!

After dinner, Mason was exhausted and kept falling down.  When he gets sleepy he can't seem to hold his balance as well.  So, we cut out early and saw a few fireworks on the drive home.  We had a wonderful day and are so thankful for our country, family, and friends!
